Steve Rhodes, Chairman
Steve began his career with the Chicago branch of Bank Leumi in 1979. He advanced through a number of financial marketing and lending positions including director of marketing. Steve continued with Leumi when he and his family moved to Israel in 1985. At Bank Leumi in Israel, Steve rose to the position of deputy manager of the Bank's International Division. In 1988, Steve joined SRD Medical as the company's CFO, later becoming vice president of sales and marketing. He left the company in 1993, forming Trendlines International with Todd Dollinger. After serving on the board of the Misgav Venture Accelerator for many years, Steve became the CEO in 2005, leading Misgav Venture Accelerator to the level that earned it the “Best Incubator” award in the Office of the Chief Scientist’s annual incubator awards event. Today, Steve shares the positions of Chairman and CEO of The Trendlines Group with Todd and additionally serves as chairman of the Mofet Innovation Accelerator. Steve earned an MBA from the University of Chicago and a bachelor's degree from Harvard University. He is a certified public accountant in the state of Illinois.
Nitza Kardish, Ph.D., CEO, Mofet Venture Accelerator
Nitza has 15 years of experience working in senior management positions at life science companies. She served as VP, Business Development at TechnionSeed, a technology incubator, where she was responsible for the life sciences and clean tech fields. Prior to that, Nitza served as CEO of Clal Life Sciences - a research and development center for emerging life science companies; CEO of UroGyn, a start up that developed minimally invasive surgical tools; and as VP, Business Development at the Raphael Development Cooperation.
Nitza earned her M.Sc. and Ph.D. (Life Sciences) degrees from the Tel Aviv University - both with distinction - and has a formal education in Law from Tel Aviv University.
Shemer Topper, VP New Ventures
Shemer Topper brings over 15 years of local and international business and product development experience to Mofet B'Yehuda. His expertise lies in establishing technological companies and startups, and his responsibilities include all aspects of performing due diligence with new entrepreneurs and new portfolio companies. Shemer previously held CEO positions and senior executive management positions in various well-known firms. He holds an MBA from the Heriot-Watt Business School, Edinburgh University, and holds a BFA degree.
